Wheelchair Therapist (Occupational Therapist / Physiotherapist /Registered Nurse ) Band 6, East Berkshire Specialist Wheelchair Service, Maidenhead
A n exciting opportunity for a n Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or a Registered Nurse to join our Team in a full-time band 6 post, Monday to Friday working pattern.
You could be part of our expanding team at East Berkshire Specialist Wheelchair Service, Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust - Rated 'Excellent' by the CQC in 2020.
Based in beautiful Royal Berkshire we cover the East of Berkshire and provide wheelchairs and specialist seating to a broad range of people (adults and children) including those with complex disabilities from our newly renovated location at 3 Abell Gardens in Maidenhead.

About the JobIn the role you will be:
Carrying out appropriate seating assessments, including specialist seating, pressure mapping and prescribe appropriate equipment ( manual / powered wheelchairs and supportive equipment ).
Carrying out assessments either in clinic, patients' home, school or workplace; and ensuring that all required assessment, risk forms and patient records are updated and maintained in line with organisational governance and protocolsResearching equipment in terms of suitability specific to patient needs whilst providing value for money.
Working with patients, relatives and carers within a multi-disciplinary team and in partnership with professionals in health, social care, education and charities as well as with specialist providers and technicians
Ensuring timeliness of provision to prevent delays in hospital discharge and work towards enabling patient wellbeing and independence.

This rewarding role would suit someone with experience of working in a variety of in-patient and outpatient settings including experience of working with physically disabled patients.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a team player who will rise to the challenge of working in a dynamic and evolving service and above all has a passion for supporting patients with complex needs.
You will be an enthusiastic and experienced therapist or nurse with great people skills.Y ou will be working alongside a specialist team of Physiotherapist, Occ upational Therapists, Rehabilitation Engineer and 2 Technicians, supported by a great administration team, which takes pride in their ability to make a real difference to patients' lives.
The 4 "must haves" for you to be considered for this role:
C linical experience in variety of in-patient and outpatient settings including experience of working with physically disabled patients.
