Kenes Group is searching for an Association Executive to join our team and work as the Executive Manager on our newest client - The British Pain Society (BPS). In this role you will support the Officers and Council and manage the secretariat, activities,and operations of BPS in accordance with association guidelines and objectives.

About BPS


The British Pain Society (BPS) is the oldest and largest multidisciplinary professional organisation in the field of pain within the UK.

The BPS creates an alliance of professionals working collaboratively with patients and industry partners to advance theunderstanding and management of pain, with the ultimate mission to reduce the suffering of people enduring daily pain.


The society's multidisciplinary nature is pivotal in making BPS a uniquely relevant representative body on all matters relating to pain and the society has a successful Annual Scientific Meeting, holds educational seminars and promotes education, training,research and development in all fields of pain through the work of its Council, Committees, Special Interest Groups and Working Parties and via its publications.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsibility for the administrative office and tasks
  • Coordination and management of virtual and physical meetings
  • Prepare and follow detailed work plan and timelines in line with strategic plan
  • Recommendation and implementation of tasks in line with strategic priorities
  • Implementation of agreed policies
  • Executive support to the Officers and Counciland advice on governance issues
  • Manage and oversee suppliers to deliver agreed activities
  • Identify and coordinate engagement with industry partners
  • Facilitate the development of the strategic plan with key stakeholders
  • Development of annual business and operational plan
  • Planning, implementation, coordination and evaluation of key projects such as scholarship, awards, endorsements and other society projects
  • Liaison with conference organiser to deliver a successful annual scientific meeting
  • Establish and maintain effective formal and informal communication with members, partners, suppliers, key decision makers and the public as agreed
  • Development and implementation of a marketing and communications plan
  • Coordination of association's publications and communications
  • Management of associations finances and fiscal requirements
  • Oversee the management of membership

Qualifications:


  • University degree, or equivalent
  • Excellent English (written/spoken)
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office
  • Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of online systems such as WordPress, CRM system

Experience:


  • 35 years experience working with nonprofit associations in a similar Association Executive / Account Management role

  • Proven ability to work with an executive team/board
  • High level of commercial and financial awareness
  • Proven experience of generating income and identifying revenue streams
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Welldeveloped communication and interpersonal skills
  • Wide general cultural knowledge with discretion and diplomacy
  • Good judgement and the capacity to work independently, retroactively and creatively
