About the roleThe postholder will work within the Strategic Economic Investment team, to provide quality, strategic advice and support for the Authority's departments, service providers, and external organisations in attracting and advising on the development/implementation of strategic economic and regeneration projects from a range of funding sources aligned with the Council's objectives.

On a day to day basis you will:

  • work with the Team Manager and Corporate Managers in Economy & Regeneration to support the development and implementation of strategic economic development projects/programmes in line with corporate priorities through the provision of advice on funding and commissioning
- identify and advise on appropriate funding sources to meet corporate objectives and the Departmental/Service work plan
- provide professional support and advice to a range of project development and project delivery colleagues across Economy & Regeneration, and with strategic external partners
- liaise with colleagues across the department and the Council to ensure the projects are developed and delivered in the most efficient, effective and co-ordinated manner

  • Liaise and provide support for internal/multiagency teams to ensure successful and compliant project design/delivery
- work across the Growth & Enterprise team to ensure funding requirements are identified/met
- prepare concise and accurate reports for Committees and attend to report as required
- work effectively with the procurement and delivery teams (internal/external) to advise and support the commissioning of activity
- communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals (senior and technical) and provide technical advice to a non-technical audience
- have the ability to build strong and constructive working relationships with key external individuals/organisations and specialists
