What you'll be doing:As a Senior Planning, Monitoring & Control - Planning you will be providing programme planning level service and governance to the wider business covering the build, test and commissioning of the Dreadnought class submarines as well as:

  • Supporting the Project Leader and /or Planning Manager with the P6 scheduling tool
  • Having the ability to perform intermediate project reporting & scheduling
  • Being able to lead the PM&C processes on a small noncomplex project or a work package of a larger project
  • Managing the PM&C processes on a full project lifecycle to ensure that, over time, the needs of customers/users continue to be met and that financial and other benefits are achieved
  • Identifying, assessing and managing risks to the success of the project. Appling appropriate PM&C methods and tools whether predictive (plandriven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches. Agreeing PM&C approach with stakeholders, and preparing realistic plans (including quality, risk and communications plans) and tracking activities against the project schedule and managing stakeholder involvement as appropriate.
  • Consolidate expertise from multiple sources, including third party experts, to provide coherent advice to further organisational objectives. Supports and promotes the development and sharing of specialist knowledge within the organisation.

Your skills and experiences:


Essential:


  • Experienced in using project planning software intermediate to expert level
  • Working knowledge of Excel & Microsoft Packages, to a good level
  • Planning experience in any discipline
  • Report generation experience is essential E.g. PowerPoint and Excel

Desirable:


  • SAP and Team Centre
  • Submarine planning experience
  • Earned Value Management experience
  • Experience working with the Primavera P6 toolset

The Network Planning
team:As part of the Network Planning team you will be working right across the whole Dreadnought platform so you will have exposure to wide groups of stakeholders. You will be able to build good knowledge of the programme and be involved in varied and interesting tasks or activities. Problem solving and working out ways to tackle challenges will test you and help you to grow and progress forward in your career. Regular development sessions will be undertaken, and you will be supported in your career progression.
