The Operations team based at our Oxley Traincare Depot, currently perform preventative and corrective maintenance on the Class 390 (Pendolino) fleet operated by Avanti West Coast and are expanding to be able to carry out the preventative maintenance on the new Class 805/807 fleet which will be replacing the Class 221 fleet currently operated by Avanti West Coast.


Purpose of role


You'll be working as part of a team, to ensure that the fleet is serviced and maintained in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner, whilst constantly seeking to improve quality.

In addition to this role, you'll have an opportunity to train as a depot train driver. On successful completion of driver training (OPC) an additional allowance of up to circa £6,000 would be payable. What are my key responsibilities?

  • Examination and Inspection of rolling stock.
  • Electrical and mechanical fitting.
  • Electrical and mechanical fault finding.
  • Carry out all work in line with Alstom's zero deviation policy (AZDP).

What do I need to qualify for this job?

Essential

  • An Engineering qualification such as HNC Electrical / Electronic or Level 4 Rail Engineering, minimum level 3 electrical and/or mechanical qualification
  • Practical experience and a sound knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic engineering aspects of modern Electric Multiple Units
  • Technical experience and expertise in mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
