This exciting post spans across both the memory assessment services - MAS (half time) and the Therapeutic intervention service - TIS (half time).


This MHSOP post will support the diagnosis of older adults with dementia in the multi disciplinary MAS services and support therapeutic group work for adults of all ages with a new diagnosis of Dementia and/or mental health difficulties in those aged 65 plus in the multi disciplinary TIS service.

This post is available as one full time post or 2 x half time posts.

To provide a clinical psychology service to two designated parts of the Mental health Services for Older People (TIS) & (MAS); to collaborate with the other members of those services in the planning, organisation and development of that service

Undertaking of audit within clinical psychology and also the integrated team.

Supervision and execution of ethics committee approved research studies.

  • Provision of psychological services to patients and their relatives and carers (where appropriate).
  • Undertaking of audit within clinical psychology and also the integrated team.
  • Supervision and execution of ethics committee approved research studies.
  • Consultation regarding research design and measurement to other team members.
  • Supervision of external research projects
  • Contribution to the planning, development and evaluation of the clinical psychology service
  • Maintenance of records, data and statistical returns as required by the Trust and service
  • Administration and organisation of research related activities.
  • Administration of own caseload and workload.
  • To work within the provisions of the Trust health and safety policy.
  • Maintenance and development of own specialist skills and competencies.
  • Attendance of ongoing training for supervision of doctoral level clinical psychology trainees.
  • Ongoing clinical supervision.
  • Supervision of TIS practitioners.
  • Training in psychological perspectives and research methods to other professions including Psychiatrists, Medical Students, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Health Care Assistants.)
  • Adherence to Trust Policies and Procedures.
  • Contribution to the development of policies and procedures within the clinical psychology service and the integrated team.
