    Job title: Scaffolding Instructor

    Description
    Job Overview:
    Scaffolding Instructors are essential to the delivery of high-quality training in construction skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and assessing trainees in a range of areas, including scaffolding, access, health and safety, and plant operations.

    Key Responsibilities:
    - Deliver training to a high standard, achieving course objectives and ensuring that all necessary materials and equipment are available.
    - Update and develop course material, including lesson plans and timetables, to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
    - Conduct industry-recognised training and assessments on trainees, adhering to scheme rules and regulations.
    - Maintain a safe learning environment, promoting health and safety, confidentiality, safeguarding, and equality and diversity at all times.

    Requirements:
    - A recognised apprenticeship or qualification in a relevant area, such as CPCS card or equivalent, in multiple categories relevant for Plant operations.
    - Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to prepare and deliver training to a high standard.
    - Sound knowledge of current industry practices and experience in construction skills relevant to the post, including Construction, Access, Health and Safety, or Plant operations.
    - Ability to work towards and achieve a relevant teaching qualification to at least Level 4 within 12 months.
    - Hold a relevant health and safety qualification, with training provided if necessary.
    - First Aid at Work Certificate within 6 months.
    - Health and safety qualifications/training relevant to the specific role, provided if necessary.

    Desirable Qualifications:
    - Possession of Assessor units, which would be advantageous.
    - Relevant teaching qualifications, such as CTLLS Level 4 – Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector, or equivalent qualification.
    - Recognised Health and Safety qualification, such as SMSTS, PTTLS, NEBOSH Construction, etc.
    - Accredited Trainer card/Tester Card for relevant specialism, provided if necessary.
    - Relevant construction Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
    - Proven ability to motivate and enthuse young people, supporting them to overcome barriers to learning and progression.
    - Well-organised and efficient, with the ability to manage own workload.

    About the Role:
    This is a full-time permanent position, working Monday to Friday (office hours). The successful candidate will be required to work towards and achieve relevant qualifications, including a teaching qualification to at least Level 4, within a specified timeframe.
