What you need to know about the role

The role covers a diverse set of responsibilities from cleaning activities on the plant to maintaining operations, mobile plant operations and potential for training as a control room operator (CRO).

The role also brings the opportunity to meet the criteria to progress towards Senior operator status.

You will work in the Coal and Coke team to ensure Injection Coal and Coke products are available and transported to our Coal Preparation Plant and Blast Furnaces.


  • Operate manufacturing machinery and equipment efficiently and safely.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Physically able to identify and clean material routes to ensure continuous operations.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
  • Adhere to all company policies and regulations.

What we need to know about you
You will understand the importance of practising working safely. You must have an initiative-taking attitude and work ethic, to actively report issues to ensure continuous improvement.

  • Previous experience in manufacturing or a related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with operating machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Shift work is necessary.
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks.
