Safe Space Housing is a supported accommodation provider committed to alleviating homelessness and its detrimental effects in the Leeds area.


Individuals experiencing homelessness are often facing specific personal challenges and difficulties which means they have limited or no access to safe and secure living accommodation.

At Safe Space we understand the significant ramifications this can have for vulnerable people in terms of both social exclusion and isolation, thereby impacting their abilityto be self-sufficient and lead positive, productive lives.

Through the provision of safe, high
- quality managed housing, in conjunction with targeted support, we help empower these individuals to develop the skills and tools they need to engage positively with society and live wholly independent lives.

Safe Space Housing (SSH) is a supported accommodation provider operating in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

We empower vulnerable adults, specifically prison leavers, to (re)integrate into mainstream society through the provision of safe and secure accommodation and tailored support in Leeds.


Support Worker - Safe Space Housing We are looking for individuals who can inspire prison leavers to make positive changes and realise their full potential.


The Role:

  • Providing practical support, assistance, and advice to vulnerable prison leaver service users to promote health and wellbeing, and achieve personalised goals
  • Undertaking support plan reviews and risk assessments
  • Supporting service users to develop independent living skills
  • Accompanying service users to appointments and meetings
  • Undertaking all administration related to support provision
  • Maintaining comprehensive records and documentation of support provision
  • Liaising with other teams regarding emergencies and complaints

Please note:
This is not a care worker role and does not involve intimate/personal care.


Key Requirements:

  • You must be able to drive and have your own car.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the support needs and challenges facing prison leavers and vulnerable adults
  • Experience of supporting individuals with a range of health and wellbeing needs inc. mental health, domestic abuse, homelessness, and substance misuse.
  • Ability to build rapport and demonstrate high levels of empathy whilst maintaining professional boundaries
  • Ability to effectively address challenging behaviour and lack of engagement
  • Awareness of support services available to vulnerable adults
  • Understanding of safeguarding requirements and duty of care when working with vulnerable individuals
  • Effective organisation, timemanagement, and administrative skills able to support and prioritize a large caseload
  • Effective communication skills able to work collaboratively across the organization and with external agencies

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
£21,673.60 per year


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends
