Overview


2fawcett are recruiting for a Support Specialist to join our client in Nottingham on a fixed term contract until March 2024.

As a Support Specialist you will offer risk assessed needs led support.


The Role & Responsibilities of the Support Specialist
To provide a support service to women from BAME communities

Provide the highest quality case work support. You will carry a varied case load, working with women throughout their journey, managing and prioritising cases effectively

Carrying out risk and needs assessments to develop and implement a structured individual safety plan, ensuring that all considerations are recognised and accommodated

Regularly review the DASH and safety plan in line with domestic abuse sector standards.

Uphold the right of women, children and young people who have experienced domestic

violence

Attend case review and team meetings

Work closely with other support workers internally to ensure that service users from marginalised communities have access to the full range of services required

Support service users through the legal, criminal or civil justice systems, drafting orders as and when required

Provide practical assistance to clients on safety planning and relevant aspects of independent living

Support the empowerment of service users

To facilitate groups and other peer support opportunities for survivors to come together and share experiences/gain support


Requirements of the Support Specialist
Adhere to Safeguarding Children and Adult policies, Health & Safety and Equal Opportunities;
Adhere to the terms of relevant legislation, especially in respect of Safeguarding Children and vulnerable adults, Equality & Diversity, Employment and Health and Safety; and also keep updated of any changes or proposed changes in relevant legislation, policy and practice

Undertake such other duties, appropriate to the grade and character of the work, as may reasonably be expected and including relief cover on the Helpline and on-call rotas

Provide the service at times and days to meet service user needs and in line with contractual requirements

Flexible and open to new challenges, ideas and experiences, and able to be self-reflective

Committed to understanding diversity and ensuring anti-discriminatory practice is applied in all forms of our work

Collaborative, building relationships with internal and external partners


Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 6 months

£25,668.00 per year


Experience:

- working with DV survivors: 1 year (preferred)
