The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and efficient Accounts Assistant to run our client accounts through our bespoke Property Management system Arthur.
It is essential for you to have experience using cloud based accounting software and a relevant qualification or to be studying towards AAT level 2 would be desirable.
This is a new position and full training will be given but experience and an understanding of the following is essential:
Responsibilities to include:
- Management and monthly reconciliation of multiple Client bank accounts using cloud based banking software.
- Reconciling rental income against properties.
- Reconciling expenditure against properties.
- Downloading and synchronisation of statements from several banking platforms on a weekly basis.
- Maintenance of purchase ledger account and reconciliations including data entry, posting payments and dealing with supplier queries for each Client account.
- Understanding and producing Nominal Ledger Reports for Clients and their Accountants for year end and quarterly Vat purposes.
- Production of monthly arrears reports for both colleagues and Clients.
- Production of monthly Management accounts desirable.
- Investigating and solving banking queries.
- Any other associated duties as required.

You need to be someone who can listen, use their initiative, work independently and as part of a small team, ask for help when needed, enjoys problem solving and is a tidy and meticulous bookkeeper.
Essential qualifications, experience and skills:
- Xero/Sage/Quickbooks or similar cloud based accounting software experience.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft word and excel.
- Bank statement synchronisation and reconciliation.
- Ability to learn new IT skills quickly.
- Positive attitude, friendly and personable.
- Resilient and able to multitask.
- Able to work independently and flexibly.
- Adaptable, organized and conscientious.
- Takes initiative, ability to prioritise and meet deadlines and calm under pressure.
- Methodical and accurate with strong attention to detail.
- Able to build and maintain effective internal and external relationships.
- An enjoyment of problem solving.
Desirable qualifications, experience and skills
- AAT qualified, studying towards AAT or qualified by experience.
- VAT processing
