We are looking for a resilient, robust, self-motivated clerical officer to support the work of the Integrated Community Paediatrics Service based at Breightmet Health Centre.

The successful applicant will provide efficient administration duties to support the Looked After Children process.

You will need to demonstrate attention to detail, have excellent communication skills, be well organised, flexible and self-directive with a positive 'can do'/problem solving attitude.

Excellent word processing and good general office skills are required. Experience of working with confidential and sensitive information within timescales, deadlines and protocols is essential.

Being based in a busy office it is essential that you can work as part of wider team in the provision of health services to children and their families.


  • To receive and action incoming referrals for appointment before and after triage.
  • To ensure that a copy of the referral is uploaded or scanned on to the EPR system as required.
  • To ensure that patients receive appropriate appointments (new and follow up), to meet national and local waiting time targets and to report any breaches immediately to the manager.
  • Maintain appointments systems, ensuring accuracy of detail and patient information.
  • Ensure patients receive timely and accurate information in relation to their appointment needs.

To provide full administrative support within the admin team based at Breightmet Health Centre, providing support to the Integrated Community Paediatric Service (ICPS) including Consultants, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Community Paediatric Nurses and Diabetes Specialist Nurses.


  • To receive and action incoming referrals for appointment before and after triage.
  • To ensure that a copy of the referral is uploaded or scanned on to the EPR system as required.
  • To ensure that patients receive appropriate appointments (new and follow up), to meet national and local waiting time targets and to report any breaches immediately to the manager.
  • Maintain appointments systems, ensuring accuracy of detail and patient information.
  • Ensure patients receive timely and accurate information in relation to their appointment needs.
  • To observe personal duty of care in relation to equipment and resources used within the service.
  • To deal courteously and efficiently with any telephone enquiries, ensuring that all actions relating to telephone calls are communicated to practitioners where appropriate.
  • Liaise with managers/clinicians regarding any difficulties in offering appointments to patients.
  • Responsibility for liaison with Health Records to ensure notes are available for clinics.
  • To ensure that all relevant clinicial correspondence is scanned on to EPR and saved under correct code.
  • To maintain and utilise LE2.2 and EPR to support the service and your role.
  • To be first point of contact for patients, families and visitors to the children's reception.
