At the Museum of London we connect people with the lived experience of London. The story we tell is one of place and people, evolving through interaction and exchange.

We summarise what we do in three words:
We Are London.

Being the Assistant to the Director of the Museum at a time of organisational transformation will be hugely satisfying for someone who enjoys being at the heart of a complex publicly known organisation.

The next four years will be the most dynamic in the lifetime of our museum as it develops its new approach at Docklands and in Smithfield and the Assistant to the Director will play a big part in helping to make it all happen.

The Assistant will be responsible for the efficient operation of the Directorate office, managing finance and other systems, maintaining contacts, overseeing procurement of supplies, managing budgets well, organising speedy approvals and overall ensuring good governance in line with the museum's processes and policies.

The role itself has a high profile within the organisation and it represents the Museum and the Director with a range of senior external stakeholders.

The Assistant has an unparalleled insight into the range of museum activity, through the close working relationship with the Director and also through supporting senior groups such as the Executive Team's meetings, this makes it a role of trust, responsibility and impact.
