Are you looking for a role where you can make a difference? Do you have a strong attention to detail and the ability to work safely and accurately in an Electrical environment? We are currently recruiting for an apprentice trained Electrician working in a static role at our Leeds based facility.

In this role you will be accountable for:

Reporting into the Testbed Electrical Engineer you would have the primary responsibility for support on all electrical obligations and working to maintain high electrical standards of work against tight deadlines.
Carrying out installation work in a test environment of LV electrical equipment. Typically 3 phase motors and heaters.
Ensure consumable electrical equipment is fit for purpose and conforms to health & safety requirements.
Supervised support of HV electricians and Instrument technicians
Comply with requirements of risk assessments and safety procedures
A strong focus on achieving tight deadlines with accurate job recording while maintaining high electrical standards of work. Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures and completing safety documents.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

Ideally from an electrical supply industry, power utility, high voltage contracting or other high voltage electrical systems background.
Willingness to progress and gain advancement to senior position of Authorised Person switching on the site private high voltage network.
Electrical Apprentice trained, 18th Edition essential, an inspection and testing qualification would be beneficial.
Familiarity with switch rooms including a good knowledge of MCCs.
Electrical faultfinding would also be an advantage.
Great team working skills.
Attention to detail
Selfmotivation and flexibility including a willingness to work weekends when required.
For applicants to be considered for this role they must be able to demonstrate a wide range of knowledge and experience with substation components / equipment, systems, including switchgear, transformers, high voltage cabling, protection, and distribution safety rules.
