The Opportunity


This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Employment Solicitor to join a successful Employment team with some of the best lawyers in the region.

The team are experts in all areas of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters, spanning acrossfive offices and ranking as a top tier department in Chambers and the Legal 500.


  • Transactional corporate support work
  • Wrongful and unfair dismissal
  • Redundancy and restructuring
  • Transfer of Undertakings
  • Restrictive covenants
  • Boardroom disputes and severance claims
  • Employment litigation in the high court, county court and employment tribunal
  • Discrimination (including sex, race, disability and age) and equal pay
  • General employment issues ranging from maternity rights to general contractual issues
  • Service agreements, contracts of employment and staff handbooks
  • Employment policies ranging from performance, sickness and misconduct procedures to maternity and parental leave schemes


The new hire will be accountable for winning and servicing employment work for the Kent and Surrey region, pitching and cross-selling colleagues from other teams and offices and supervising, and motivating junior lawyers.

Requirements:


  • Experience commensurate to that of 8+ years PQE, ideally gained within a regional, national or City firm
  • Welldeveloped knowledge in all areas of employment law with ambition to grow a small team and become Partner
  • Experience in winning work and building client relationships with technical ability to run and manage a caseload of files from initial instruction through to postcompletion
  • A strong public speaker with a track record in delivering seminars desired
  • Willingness to get involved in business development and attend events to promote the firm and the employment practice
