Our
Local Authority client, based in the
West Midlands , is currently recruiting for a
Financial Services Manager (Deputy s.151 Officer) on a
permanent basis.


The salary for this position is up to
£54,603 dependent upon experience, and a
flexible working pattern, with
two days per week working from home.


Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Manage a team of 12, including transactional services and accountants
  • Coordinate the preparation of annual estimates, budgets and determination of Council Tax
  • Ensure annual budget is monitored and adhered to, providing financial support to all sections
  • Create and provide a 5year Medium Term Financial Plan
  • Provide strategic advice on all tax matters affecting the Council
  • Manage the production of year end accounts and liaise with External Auditors
  • Oversee the management of the Council's investments, bank accounts and cash flow
  • Monitor Collection Funds, produce regular updates and management information relating to the Medium Term Financial Plan

Experience required:


  • CCAB qualified
  • Experience within Local Government
