Description

SEND Teaching Assistant (Guildford).

Responsibilities:

Work with children on a 1:1 or small group basis to support their learning and development.
Support children with SEND in the classroom, providing assistance with tasks and adapting materials to meet their needs.
Help to manage behaviour and promote positive social interaction among children.
Provide personal care and support, where required.
Work with the SENDCo to help develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour plans.
Attend and contribute to SEND reviews, and communicate with parents and other professionals as necessary.
Monitor and record children's progress, and provide regular feedback to teachers and other staff members.
Support the wider school community in promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Requirements:

A passion for working with children and helping them to achieve their potential.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
A patient and caring approach to working with students.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Experience working in a primary school setting is desirable, but not essential.
Experience with specific learning difficulties such as Autism, ADHD, and Speech and Language difficulties is desirable.
