The Queen Victoria Hospital is a specialist hospital for Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery, Burns, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics and Corneal and Oculoplastic Surgery.

The Trust is seeking to appoint a replacement Consultant Histopathologist to enable the department to continue to support the hospital specialist services and match the recent expansion of the surgical workload.

The post holder will be expected, in conjunction with colleagues, to ensure provision of a comprehensive Histopathology service including head & neck pathology.

Applicants must hold the Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists or equivalent and have completed a period of higher professional training.

Applicants who are UK trained must ALSO be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.

Applicants who are non-UK trained will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT but it should be noted that, due to the specialist nature of the Trust, and therefore the department, the broad histopathology experience required for CESR is not available in post.
