The Adult Speech and Language Therapy Community Team in Betsi Cadwaladr Centre have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dynamic Band 5 Therapist to join our friendly and supportive Community Speech and Language Therapy team in a full time permanent post.

The successful applicant for this post will hold a caseload of patients with Adult Learning Disabilities and Mental health needs.


You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills (including observation, listening and empathy skills) to support the individual needs of patients, and families, working together with other professionals.


You will work with Team Leaders and colleagues in adult community Speech and Language Therapy services to ensure equity, efficiency and dynamic service delivery.

You will have the opportunity to develop the skills required to work
independently with adults who have acquired communication and swallowing disorders, including successfully completed post-graduate dysphagia training

With support, you will organise, plan and prioritise your own workload, and develop appropriate strategies for caseload management.


You will be able to deliver comprehensive communication and/or dysphagia reports or management plans in the context of multi-disciplinary working.

You will provide placements for Speech & Language Therapy students.

You will supervise and provide safe delegation to non-qualified staff, including Speech and Language Therapy assistants.

You will be involved in projects which contribute to service development.
