Open Ended (Permanent)

Full Time, 35 Hours per Week


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Facilities Officer within the Institute of Genetics and Cancer (IGC) at the University of Edinburgh to provide wide ranging, effective support for matters relating to facilities management across the IGC complex.


The post-holder is a key member of the IGC Core Operations team, providing first line support for facilities management for the Institute, as well as a wide range of activities that underpin the day to day laboratory management of a vibrant and varied research environment.


The Opportunity:


This is an excellent opportunity for a member of staff to join an institute-wide collaborative team, have significant impact and support the delivery of novel and exciting research by our staff and students.


The post is open-ended, based at the IGC which is located on the Western General Hospital Campus in Edinburgh and is available to start at the earliest convenience of the applicant.


Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Vocational qualifications plus experience working in a similar role
  • Good IT skills with a familiarity with MS office software
  • The ability to multitask, with excellent time management skills
  • Initiative and judgment to resolve problems independently
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
