£30,296- £33,024 per annum plus essential car user allowance

Work base Buxton-Agile working applicable
The Homelessness Reduction Act places strong duties upon local authorities to prevent and relieve homelessness.


We are looking for a positive and enthusiastic housing professional to help deliver this key area of the Council's services and make a real difference to our customers.


Your main duties will include:

  • Using creative and innovative casework skills to deliver positive outcomes to customers assessed as at risk of homelessness. With a focus on enabling customers to retain their existing home or supporting a search for an alternative home through personal housing and support plans.
  • Carry out investigations, assessments and developing personal housing plans, casework and make legal decisions in accordance with the Housing Act 1996 as amended by Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. Whilst also ensuring that the relevant duties are discharged appropriately. Undertake recording of homeless prevention and relief cases for the purposes of data protection, audit, statistical analysis and government returns.
  • Telephone and face to face housing advice
  • Deliver complex and bespoke telephone advice to customers, often customers in crisis and in need of support or intervention.
