As a Senior Team Leader for the MRO function (internally known as Tactical Buying and Expediting), you will use your leadership skills and exemplary behaviours to motivate a team of TB&E Team Leads and Executives to improve performance, meet company KPI targets, improve efficiency, and drive innovation and creativity throughout the team.

You will provide a vision of improved performance, understand how it can be achieved, and effectively communicate it.

The role is responsible for delivering TB&E repair services as efficiently and effectively as possible, and meeting contracted customer expectations around delivery and cost.


This role supports and helps deliver the execution of TB&E strategy, as developed by the Head of TB&E, Director of Procurement and SVP Operations.

The role directly reports to the Head of TB&E and is there to aide them with implementing the strategy.

You will manage two to three TB&E Team Leaders, via one of two business lines of customer & supplier TB&E Executives.


What you will be doing

  • Direct support of TB&E management, striving to deliver departmental objectives and maintain an appropriate level of stakeholder relationships.
  • TB&E team leader management of holiday, training, and objectives cascade, ensure the PDR and performance management process are effectively managed, liaising with the management team and People and Development to identify areas of learning and development opportunities. Take responsibility for the recruitment, induction and initial socialisation of new staff members including supporting recruitment activities as required.
  • Largely focused on supplier performance, cost management and driving towards the company KPIs
  • Continuous improvement with current process and future. Drive for common processes and methods across all customers.
  • Oversee the workload balance distribution throughout the team for best performance, lead by the team leads
  • Ambassador of the TB&E team's wellbeing and correct behaviours.
  • Help to achieve company objectives regarding key processes within TB&E. Challenges include developing and expediting approaches working with the Procurement team and supporting the review process for assessing workshop estimates.
  • Coordinate team activity through team leads to ensure maximum output from available resources by ensuring that each member understands personal objectives and an appreciation of how these contribute to team performance. Prioritise workload and assist team leads by providing approachable ongoing support and direction for your business line.
  • Actively encourage the continuous improvement of the team. Clear communication of task setting, ensuring understanding of the tasks and the impact these tasks have on the company.
  • Assist in the development, negotiation and maintenance of Key Performance Indicators as agreed with the management team. Take responsibility for ensuring that KPI targets are met, regularly and accurately reported, and escalate any external issues affecting team performance as required.
  • Communicate ideas to management and help facilitate any data collection or associated activity as required to implement change in a structured process.
  • Maintain team procedural compliance, including ensuring that all transactions are invoiced accurately and are in line with Company expectations.
  • Clear, effective, and regular communication with external and internal customers to build and develop a productive working relationship. Engage with the team to ensure consistency of communication and to instil trust with our customers.
  • Act as a coach in the professional and personal development of Teams, existing and potential, and more generally contribute to the professional development planning process within the TB&E department. Helping the team move from the highly manual and reactive to the proactive and under control 'Control Tower' mindset.
  • Any other reasonable and appropriate tasks as requested by the management team to meet the needs of the business.
