Finance Assistant
We are looking for someone with relevant Accounts experience and who wants a permanent, long term, career position within a rapidly growing and financially stable business.

Job Purpose/Key Role:
- Responsible for accurately recording month end procedures in the accounting system.
- Ownership and preparation of the monthly Business Partnering schedules to strict deadlines following the completion of the month end management accounts process.
- Ownership of monthly reporting functions covering sustainability, pricing analysis, commodities, and project variations.
- Supporting the Project Accountant with monthly processes and adhoc analysis.
- Working closely with both the Management Accountant and the Purchase Ledger team, assisting with invoice processing, and reconciling key general ledger codes.
Main Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Month end processes covering fixed assets, rebates from suppliers, accruals and prepayments, including timely and accurate recording within the accounting system
- Ownership of the company's fixed assets, including oversight of the capex approval system, capex tracking and annual verification processes
- Preparation of monthly cost sheets supporting the Project Accountant with monthly processes and adhoc analysis.
- Supporting the Financial Controller by providing financial inputs for client reports
- Ownership and responsibility for producing timely and accurate monthly reporting of company emissions and sustainability initiatives, reporting to the Finance Director, Sustainability Committee and Senior Management Team
- Responsibility for monthly reporting of pricing analysis, commodity price fluctuations and project variations.
- Providing assistance to the Purchase Ledger team to process invoices.
- Assistance where required with end of year accounting and external auditors
Skills and Qualifications
- AAT qualified or above / 2+ year QBE
- Previous experience in a finance role
- A solid understanding of accounting practises.
- Good level of Excel.
- Accounting practises, such as double entry and debits and credits, understanding terminology for accruals, prepayments, and fixed assets.
Personal Skills
- Attention to detail, management of time / priorities is key.
- Able to work on own initiative and as well as part of a wider team.
- Attention to detail is essential, whilst ensuring deadlines are also achieved.
- Confidence to speak to peers and senior members of staff when queries arise.
Additional Information:
Very occasionally there will be some travel. This position is office based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire Monday to Friday.
SALARY c£22000 to £28,000 dependant on experience.
