Description
Duties:
- Construct and repair walls, foundations, and other structures using bricks, concrete blocks, and mortar
- Lay out patterns and designs according to blueprints or specifications
- Cut or shape bricks to fit irregular spaces or angles
- Mix mortar or grout and spread it onto surfaces using hand or power tools
- Align and level bricks using plumb lines, levels, or other tools
- Clean excess mortar from finished surfaces
- Repair or replace damaged bricks or other masonry units
Requirements:
- Clean driving license and vehicle
- Proven experience as a Bricklayer
- Proficient in masonry techniques and practices
- Ability to read drawings and follow construction plans
- Strong knowledge of different types of bricks, blocks, and stones
- Familiarity with various masonry tools and equipment, both hand tools and power tools
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labour for extended periods of time
- Attention to detail and precision in workmanship
Skills:
- Proficiency in working with power tools such as saws, drills, grinders, etc.
- Strong masonry skills including the ability to mix mortar, lay bricks accurately, and create precise joints
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, levels, etc.
