Upon joining the Berkeley Sales Academy

  • You will undertake 9 weeks of intensive training to equip you with the knowledge and tools required for success with our business.

Once completing the training programme, a unique opportunity for a Cantonese and/or Mandarin speaker exists in Hong Kong to join the Berkeley team on secondment as a Business Development Executive, as part of our successful and established International office network.


  • Berkeley Hong Kong is at the forefront of the Group's Asia Pacific sales activity and organisation.

The position will suit someone who would like to use and develop their entrepreneurial flair in a part of the business which values the ability of individuals to use their initiative to promote and develop their own ideas in a team environment for growing the business.

An ability to think 'outside the box' is encouraged.

  • The individual will work as part of the Hong Kong team and will be involved in various interesting and rewarding activities, including:
  • Business development in its widest sense.
  • Developing a full understanding of the Group's business strategies and establishing relationships with the key stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Arranging and managing a variety of marketing and promotional events, which ranges from seminar events and private dinners, which will in turn allow you to develop relationships with our Hong Kong based customers.
  • Also, the individual will be exposed to senior executives across all of the Group's business entities. It is an unparalleled opportunity to understand and contribute to the success of the business in a key market. It will provide an excellent platform for career development in Berkeley.

Our Hong Kong office and wider Berkeley International business is led by Managing Director Gavin Sung and he manages a small sales focused team who service our strong Chinese client base.

Within his team he has people of varying levels within Sales, including Weiyu Zhang a Senior Business Development Executive that came through the Berkeley Sales Academy.

The opportunity to learn and develop within this team is a rare opportunity within the residential development industry.

As a Business Development Executive, you will take the lead in helping customer to identify and purchase their new Berkeley home.

We must ensure customers receive exemplary service throughout the process.

Specifically, you will undertake the following:

  • Drive and manage the sales process and negotiations with a wide variety of customers
  • Implement Berkeley Group's continuous drive to deliver excellent customer service by managing the customer journey and consistently exceeding customer expectations
  • Dealing with a varied customer base in a friendly, polite and professional manner
  • To be successful you will need to demonstrate the following skills:
  • Strong customer facing and presentation skills in person and via virtual viewings
  • Commercial acumen
  • Strong lateral thinking
  • High attention to detail
  • Target driven with good negotiating skills
  • Resilient and adaptable
  • Able to work in a team and on own initiative
