£23,000 to £25,000, depending on experience
Bishop & Associates Ltd is a multi-disciplinary
Chartered Building Surveying and
Construction Project Management company based in
south-west London. Due to increased workload we are looking to recruit a
recently graduated Building
Surveyor to work initially alongside Building Surveyors in the following areas:
- Initial site surveys of Buildings and writing report on the existing condition of the building, listing defects and recommending proposed scope of works.
- Preparation of specification of works and tender documents for both external repair and redecoration and refurbishment of the common parts.
- Tendering and analysis of contractor's prices for the works including preparation of report and recommendation.
- Following up on tenders during the process to ensure that the tenders have arrived with the contractor and chasing to ensure that the tenders are returned on the specified date.
- Preparation of tender analysis spreadsheet using Excel based on returned tenders.
- Inputting of tender figures on Excel.
- Preparation of Contract documentation and prestart information for all contractors.
- Contract Administration of the works consisting of attending site meetings, agreeing variations and valuations of interim payments and the agreement of the final contract sum.
- Licence for alterations and Schedules of condition.
- Party Wall Surveys and reports.
- Maintaining approved contractors list including checking insurances and that all information is up to date.
- Sending out approved questionnaire for new contractors and checking information and references.
- Sending out of prestart information once contracts have been approved.
- Weekly site meeting on the various projects including taking of site minutes on a weekly basis.
- Preparation of monthly valuations and issuing of certificates for payment.
- Agreement of variations and final accounts.
- Research into suitable new specialist contractors and suppliers.
Person Profile:
- Recently graduated Building Surveyor ideally with BSc in Building Surveying.
- Some commercial residential building surveying experience would be an advantage
- Knowledge and use of MS Office / Excel / Outlook.
- Physically fit and able to climb scaffolding and work at heights.
- Well organised and excellent attention to detail.
- Pleasant personality and good sense of humour easy to work with
- Self motivated and able to work on own initiative.
- Flexible and able to multitask.
- Loyal and able to commit to suitable times and meet deadlines.
- Able to review works strategies and suggest more efficient ways to work and improve quality.
