We are looking for We are looking for someone to join the Financial Services team as an experienced Team Leader.


Our team arranges and administers Direct Payments to Adult Social Care clients to allow them to pay towards their assessed care and support services.

We help the most vulnerable people in East Sussex to ensure they receive the correct level of financial assistance towards care and support.

We provide support to clients of Adult Social Care, the public and Adult Social Care practitioners.


The key tasks of the role are:

  • Maintaining accurate records of all interactions regarding clients in the appropriate database.
  • Monitoring payment requests from Adult Social Care practitioners to ensure clients can fulfil their care and support needs.
  • Offering core support to all our direct payment clients.
  • Providing on the job training to team members
  • Providing coaching and mentoring to team members.
  • Providing ad hoc support when required.
  • Monitoring and reconciling card accounts.
  • Providing support to the team with varied duties as required.
  • Carrying out recruitment of staff.
  • Occasional home visits for clients.
  • Supporting the Team Manager/Operations Manager with investigations of complex cases and complaints.
  • Supporting the team to make discretionary decisions based on regulations and local policy.
  • Supervising team during Team Manager's absence
You will need knowledge of working with computers including Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office. You will work on several bespoke database systems for which you will receive full training and ongoing support.


We are looking for someone who can work on their own initiative and has strong leadership and customer service skills, be organised, self-motivated, collaborative and understand the needs of vulnerable people.

Experience as a Team Leader is desired and full on the job training will be provided.

Additional Information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
