A very exciting opportunity has arisen to work for Manchester City Council.

The position offers an opportunity to work in stable workforce covering maternity posts and vacancies we are looking to offer a worker some stability in the post in a Children's Team rated Good.

This is a standard CP/CIN/Safeguarding position with a competitive hourly rate and an average manageable caseload of 10-15 in the service.

November average for all teams is 14.11


Responsibilities:


  • Carrying out home visits for monitoring purposes/ to promote the welfare of and to safeguard the children
  • Liaising/ Working close with partnership agencies to support the families and meet the children/ young peoples needs
  • Producing Initial Child Protection Conference reports
  • Convening and chairing Core Group Meetings
  • Initiating and implementing Child Protection Plans
  • Completion of Care Proceedings
  • Organising/managing packages of care
  • Preparing and presenting case conference reports
  • Completing/reviewing/implementing CIN plans
  • Chairing Children in Need meetings
  • Attending court and giving evidence when required

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work Qualification
  • Degree or equivalent
  • At least 2 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
  • Social Work England Registration
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle
