Within SCOR Global P&C, SCOR Business Solutions (SBS) is the central unit dedicated to insuring the business risks faced by large corporate companies.
SBS has been serving its customers for 45 years and has maintained a continuous presence in the market by upholding a strong technical culture supported by SCOR's best-in-class financial strength rating.
Business activity is structured around three regions (Americas, EMEA, APAC) through seven global lines of business (Construction, Property, Energy, Casualty, Financial Lines, Marine/Transport and Space/Aviation).
SBS a recognized leader in the construction insurance and reinsurance market. The Construction team consists of eleven underwriters located in Houston, New York City, London, Paris, Hong Kong and Singapore.
The EMEA construction team operate together from both London and Paris and play a central role in cross-selling and product development.
The team has built a diversified portfolio ranging from building projects to all types of civil works and infrastructure including power together with oil, gas and petrochemical projects and lastly mining, metals and manufacturing.
They are led by the EMEA Regional Head of Construction who has dual reporting to the Global Head of Construction and the SBS Regional Head of EMEAYou will:
- Produce new business from the EMEAC region in Contractors All Risks (CAR) and EAR (Erection All Risks) policies on a Single Project or Annual basis form, insurance, and facultative reinsurance.
- Contribute to the development and quality of the portfolio in accordance with the underwriting policy and the direction being selected by the Global Line of business.
- Contribute to the commercial activity for the Region, with a specific focus on London Market business including continental Europe and Middle East, in coordination with other Lines of Business.
- Give added value to the Global Construction teams on specific technical and/or language skills, being accounting, data analytics, knowledge of a specific region or country, or past industry experience
Key duties and responsibilities
Responsibilties
Under the authority of both the London-based EMEA Regional Head and Global Head of Construction you will be charged with:
Underwrite, build and maintain a profitable portfolio in accordance with the SBS underwriting guidelines
Marketing the SBS capabilities and products to Corporate Risk Managers, Brokers and Ceding companies in London and other EMEA countries

Produce marketing material and
informed business intelligence documentation based upon research and analysis of the portfolio results and market data.

Report regularly on accounts and marketing activity

Supervise the administration of the OMEGA back-office tool (in liaison with the Technical Assistants) in relation to new or existing accounts
Activities

Identify new business targets in order to develop a profitable profile for SBS.
- Build and maintain
relationships with clients and their intermediaries (brokers, ceding companies).
Visit regularly our clients and project sites (approx days of business travel per year)

Promote SCOR to our customers by using the communication and marketing products (seminars, forums, materials etc).
- Work in
close cooperation and coordination with your colleagues in the SBS network with where appropriate the sharing of business objectives to produce the best response to your producers and for the division.
Analyse the construction portfolio paying particular attention to profitability.
- Responsibly manage
data recorded in our information systems to give an accurate representation of the risks subscribed and to allow portfolio analysis. - Regularly interact with our
claims team to inform the underwriting process.
Client management
Adopt a solution-oriented customer centric view, in building on cross selling with other lines of business or with treaty for facultative services.
Global Construction team
- Participating to broader Global construction initiatives and projects, specifically concentrate on managing annually renewing business and introducing added value managing tools.
