Description

We are establishing a team who will sit within the Trust-wide Clinical Education team and provide development support to HCSWs.

This role will be key within the team and the post-holder will focus on three key areas:

- managing the delivery of the care certificate across the Trust and support learners and mentors, balancing the need to support but also ensuring that standards are met
- helping to manage the delivery of functional skills across the Trust which requires perseverance and good organisational skills
- contributing to the delivery of skills training to HCSWs

The post-holder will work with both HCSWs across a range of settings (in-patient and community, mental health and adult and children community services).

We envisage that this role will be suitable for experienced HCSWs who have mentored others, Nursing Associates or nurses from all branches who are clinically confident and enjoy helping others to develop.

Non-clinical staff with recent experience of working in education are also encouraged to apply.

  • One of the key objectives of your post will be to manage the delivery of the care certificate across Trust. This will include ensuring the taught element of the course is easily accessible, supporting learners and their mentors in practice throughout the programme. You will also be responsible for monitoring the care certificate compliance rate across the Trust and contributing to the production of regular reports which show progress towards targets.
  • You will help coordinate the delivery of support to staff across the Trust who want to improve their English and Maths skills. Much of the work will be acting as the main point of contact for those who want to access functional skills support, assessing their need and identifying appropriate development opportunities. You will also be coordinating cohorts of learners attending courses delivered by external training providers and you will be responsible for tracking the progress of learners and ensuring that the training providers are delivering a high quality programme.
  • You will also be part of the HCSW team and from time to time may have to contribute towards the HCSW induction programme or skills training. This may involve facilitating others to provide skilled, evidence based care which adheres to agreed policies and procedures
The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users.

As an NHS Trust we strongly encourage and support vaccination as this remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients and service users when working on our healthcare settings.

The Clinical Education team, has a supportive, inclusive ethos that really make it easy for professionals to grow.

Central and North West London NHS Trust expects all employees to act in a way which shows you understand our core values and are willing to put them into practice with service users, their friends, family and carers and also other staff members.
