GCU UK Ltd are looking for a Senior HSEQ Advisor to oversee contracts covering Glasgow and Dundee.


The role of the HSEQ Function is to ensure that each member of the GCU family returns home safe every day and that our operations are within the bounds of statutory legal compliance.

To strive for continual improvement reducing the risk of harm to people, the environment, and assets in all that we do.


The Senior HSEQ Advisor is to support the Operations team and HSEQ colleagues deliver a safe working environment and an effective reporting capability.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Deliver H&S Inductions
  • Carry out risk assessments
  • Conduct H&S Audits
  • To challenge and intervene when poor safety behaviours or unsafe conditions are observed
  • Investigate and report incidents
  • Support Operations with HSEQ Advice
  • Support & Coach the wider HSEQ team to ensure consistency of delivery of standards.
  • Create and deliver Toolbox Talks
  • Host H&S Meetings
  • Represent HSEQ Team at Client and other Stakeholder Meetings
  • Assist with the development and continual improvement of the Management System
Qualifications, Skills and Experience required

  • NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (or higher)
  • NEBOSH Certificate in Construction Health & Safety (Desirable)
  • CSCS Card
  • Previous experience in a similar role (Desirable)
  • Working knowledge of Construction (Design & Management) Regs
  • Ability to liaise with staff and operatives at all levels
  • Effective communicator with strong presentation and report writing skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office package
  • Full UK/ EU Driving Licence
