Description

The Group Management Accountant is a new position to consolidate the financial reporting, forecasting and control of each business unit and subsidiary, working with senior management and the finance function in each jurisdiction, reporting into the CFO andGroup Financial Controller, based in the UK.


Your main responsibilities will include:
1) Delivery of monthly management and annual financial accounting for each group entity, including the consolidation for management review of group financial results and position

2) Reporting against budgets and prior year, by entity and on a consolidated basis, providing analytical review and variance analysis

3) Supporting management review of gross margins by customer, segment and region, highlighting variances, opportunities and risks

4) Supporting purchasing and financial systems of control, providing insight and suggesting improvements to senior management

5) Reporting the group treasury and cash forecast position, identifying risk and significant foreign exchange exposure

6) Overseeing bookkeeping and accounting function in each entity provided by internal and external accounting resources in each country

7) Reconciliation each month of all balance sheet control accounts, including trade debtors, prepayments, work in progress, deferred revenue, trade creditors, provisions, accruals, capitalisation and intercompany accounts

8) Acting as the group liaison with management accountants / finance managers for off-shore group entities in USA, Bangladesh, South Africa and Bulgaria

9) Monitoring long term liabilities including bank and non-bank loans

10) Supporting the preparation of group finance reports with KPI and ration analyses to the board

11) Overseeing the following recurring areas of responsibility:
a) Prompt, complete and accurate issue of sales invoices across business units

b) Credit control function and achievement of debtor day targets

c) Bank transactions and reconciliations, and credit cards in the UK

d) Managing UK suppliers and trade creditors, and working within creditor day targets

e) Management of HMRC accounts, covering PAYE/NIC and VAT, and similar in each jurisdiction (USA, South Africa and Bangladesh)

f) Ensuring smooth running of the UK monthly payroll and analysis of monthly payroll and departmental and expense line posting

g) Supporting sales management in calculating commissions and bonuses

h)

Monthly accounting journals preparation:
accruals, prepayments, commissions, stock, capital expenditure, depreciation, amortisation, tax provisions

i) Reconciliation of all non-key balance sheet accounts

12) Support the company secretarial function and filing the necessary forms online and at Companies House

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong technical skills and the ability to partner with commercial and operational stakeholders in a fast paced, growing international SME environment and with at least five years commercial experience ideallyin the professional services sector

  • Ad hoc projects set by CFO, Group Financial Controller and senior management team
  • Daytoday management and performance appraisals of members of the international finance team

Other skills and experience

  • Familiar with accounts consolidation for a group of companies
  • Xero and other enterprise accounting system experience
  • Power user of Excel and Google sheets
  • Working in a professional service environment with focus on gross margin controls and analysis
