What you will be doing?

Assurance of Programme and Project Managers with reporting and tracking of programme /project progress and performance from a quality assurance perspective and to facilitate all aspects of portfolio/ programme/ project meetings, workshops and documentationas required.


What will this role involve?
Support for the ongoing project governance and assurance arrangements in line with Digital PMO guidance.

Conduct project stage gate reviews with the Project Managers, providing quality assurance of gates in preparation for review and sign off.

(Recommendationsfor progression)
Provide assurance that Project and Programme Managers are following appropriate Thames Water and Thames Digital commercial processes.

Financial monitoring and support as required to enable monthly financial reporting for project and programmes within Portfolio not part of the Digital capex internal business plan.

Assurance of the quality of RAID items, manage the enforcement of updates/mitigation and closure where possible. Provide support for escalated issues and ensure change control methods and processes are embedded and followed.
Assistance with cross-portfolio dependencies, ensuring they are being actively managed, and the dependency log is accurately maintained.


We're looking for you to:


  • General understanding of how to build business cases TBD dependant on service model, planning, required resources, costs & benefits.
  • Assurance Role/ability to assure timeliness, completeness, and quality of reporting. Coaching project and programme management population of requirements of EDF (Enterprise Delivery Framework) delivery methodology
  • Ability to demonstrate depth and knowledge of business area strategy, priorities, and upcoming changes to portfolio. Feedback on currency and clarity of dependencies and management thereof.
  • Knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile delivery methodology
  • Project Management experience in projects with an IT component would be beneficial
  • Experience in Short & Long term project planning, resource & cost forecasting
  • Essential technical skills: MS Project, Visio, and MS Office with advanced proficiency in Excel.


  • Desired technical skills

  • Prince2, P30, Knowledge of DevOps ways of working
  • At least 5 years experience of working within a Digital / IT delivery environment
  • At least 5 years experience of working within PMO at a Portfolio or Programme level is desirable.
