his is a homebased role with occasional travel for team meetings and or training.

Contract hours per week

Salary - £12, £20,342 FTE)

Experience -

  • As a Referrals Advisor you will be providing a high quality administration, and supporting the effective daytoday running of the Mediation Service that supports disabled children, or young people and their families. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills in a rewarding role, and gain a strong sense of achievement.
  • You will work remotely but still be part of a fantastic, award winning team. You won't meet them every day, but you will get to see them. Everyone is on hand to answer questions and help out when needed.
    What you will be doing as a Mediation

Referrals Advisor:


  • You will be the first point of call manage high volumes of calls, messages, queries and signposting in a timely, efficient manner
  • You will be booking diary appointments for the Mediation Advisers using systems such as 'Team Up'
  • You will provide the highest level of impartial customer service at all times, recording all customer contact accurately and actioning follow up tasks promptly
  • You will provide information about the mediation service, if required by callers, and have a basic knowledge of the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) framework and the mediation process. (Training on the SEND framework and mediation process will be provided as necessary).
  • To support the arrangement of Mediation Information Advice sessions and liaising with all required parties.
  • To support the mediation team with administrative tasks such as reports and feedback forms
  • To attend supervision, meetings and training as required.
  • To undertake any other duties within scope of post as required.

About You:

Personal qualities for the role of Mediation Referrals Advisor**- You will have experience of managing a heavy case/workload

  • Excellent planning, organisation and administrative skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and able to act on direction seeking help when required.
  • You will have an excellent telephone manner and listening skills and excellent customer care skills
  • Maintain confidentiality, work independently and quickly under pressure
  • You will have the ability to understand and explain the legislative framework of the service
  • Experience of working with a case management system (e.g. Charity Log)
  • You will have the ability to effectively use a range of online Information Technology systems (IT), e.g. Team Up.
  • You will be able to problem solve and work on own initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • You will have the ability to build empathy and rapport quickly over the telephone and have experience of liaising confidently and sensitively with service users
  • You will have an aptitude for learning and sharing knowledge with others effectively
