Description
NMS Infrastructure is a leading Engineering, Procurement and Construction developer specialising in turnkey infrastructure projects in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Due to recent growth and significant UK Export Finance funding, an exciting opportunity has come up for a Logistics Assistant.


The Logistics Assistant shall act as part of the Purchasing and Logistics team and as such will be required to support the international and UK logistics managers and sub-departments.

The role is to perform data input tasks and administration to enable the department to function efficiently and effectively.


Overview


We are looking for someone with considerable experience in the delivery of multiple projects, able to work with accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to develop efficient communication and collaboration with all departments within NMS.


This is a full-time, 6 months fixed term contract with the potential to extend or become a permanent position, working from the Market Harborough office.


Key Responsibilities

  • Input project related data, particularly shipping information/documents.
  • Data collection and consolidation.
  • Maintain records, filing systems, database and computer files relating to the logistics function.
  • Maintain supplier, customer and project/enquiry files.
  • Record delivery schedules and packing specifications from suppliers.
  • Processing of supplier invoices, Goods Received Notes (GRN) and associated documentation.
  • Type correspondence, reports, compile and update Excel spreadsheets and other documents.
  • Liaise with outside IT support where necessary.
  • Liaise with shipping and warehouse partners.
  • Coordination of inbound and outbound cargo and freight.
  • Monitoring and recording of logistics costs to budget.
  • Minimum 3 years' work experience in a commercial / logistics environment.
  • High level of computer skills, good knowledge of Microsoft Office package.
  • Background in logistics sector desirable but not essential.
  • Welldeveloped administration skills and ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret complex and sensitive information and to deal with large amounts of data accurately and efficiently.
  • Has a positive attitude and enjoys working as part of a team to achieve common goals and company objectives.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both oral & written, and confident telephone manner.
  • French speaker (qualified at A level or above) desirable but not essential.
