Aspull Eng. Co Ltd are looking for a Workshop FOREMAN / Plater Welder

Aspull Eng. Co.

Ltd are a Specialist Steel Fabricators and our work includes:
Site Erection, Secondary Steelwork, Plant Removal / Installation. Pipe Fitters and Mechanical Engineers. Architectural metalwork in ferrous and non - ferrous

The responsibilities include

  • Working as a Foreman who is also willing to work "On The Tools"
Liase with Project Engineers and delegate jobs to Shop Floor employees and Site Workers.

Management of Shop Floor Employees and Site Teams

Trouble Shooting / problem solving of work related issues

Monitor and track projects ensuring jobs are completed correctly and within the allocated time.

Report to management on a day-to-day basis.

Ensure individuals are kept informed of their responsibilities by regular instruction and effective communication.

Provide support on a technical level to the workshop team.

Stock take for consumables, such as Gas, Welding Consumables, Paint etc.

Purchase materials and consumables when required.

Record Keeping, Time Sheets, updating records for BS EN 1090.

Ensure the adoption of safe working procedures and providing a safe place of work, adhering to.

Management of Vehicle Maintenance.

Manage Hilti Fleet Hire.

Manage Health and Safety legislation on behalf of the HSQ Manager and MD.

Keyholding for our workshop & yard.

Work "On The Tools" as required


The Applicant Must:
Be a Qualified Plater, (Certificates Required)

Must be able to read, understand and work to fabrication drawings and inspect / check fabrication work.

Must be able to follow and understand and ISO 9001, BS EN 1090 Execution Class 3.

Knowledge of RWC desirable.

Have a proven leadership and ability to drive & motivate staff.

Build strong working relationships within the organisation.

Have a strong ability to organise the workshop and site teams.

Have good decision-making skills.

Maintain good housekeeping in the workshop & yard.

Be able to manage the consumables.

Requirements include

  • Must have a full driving licence.
Must have a Plating Qualification and minimum of 6 years' experience within a fabrication workshop.

Basic Computer Skills and willing to learn Aspull's Job Costing System.

Working 7am till 5pm Monday to Thursday with a 1⁄2 Hour Unpaid Lunch Break. Overtime as and when required by the Company.
