Our Transport Planning Team in the South West and Wales (with offices in Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter) has an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Transport Planner looking to be part of a collaborative team and office environment.


A key part of this role is working closely with Principal Consultants and Associate Directors within Transportation and other disciplines across our offices.

You will provide mentoring and technical advice for junior team members and the wider business. As such, you will need to have experience and knowledge of the full range of transport planning.

AECOM has a wide range of multi-disciplinary teams, a global reach and diversified market penetration. Our clients include national, regional and local transport authorities, as well as private developers and international clients.

We develop and use some of the most sophisticated transport modelling techniques in a range of specialist software and offer a comprehensive internal training programme to encourage professional and technical development.


Responsibilities:


As a senior member of the team, you will need to provide strong technical capabilities to deliver a wide range of projects across the region, including delivering business cases and strategies for multimodal, freight, public transport, cycling and walking.

Working with like-minded individuals and a team of Lead Verifiers with national recognition you will be part of a team that delivers quality products, that satisfies the needs of our local and regional clients, funding bodies and national clients including the Department for Transport.


Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the specification and management of transport planning projects, leading workstreams and projects and taking responsibility for the technical quality.
  • Providing support to a number of senior staff, as well as provide advice and support to junior staff, being responsible for their technical development.
  • Assist in the development of business opportunities, contributing to the production and delivery of larger bids and proposals, but from time to time, lead on smaller opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively across disciplines.

Minimum Requirements:


  • An excellent understanding of transport guidance and best practice (TAG/WelTAG)
  • Experience of the production and review of business cases, transport strategies, feasibility studies and appraisal.
  • Data analysis and processing skills.
  • Supervising and supporting the workload of junior staff.

Qualifications Preferred Qualifications**- Educated to degree level.
