Our client, a leading car manufacturer is currently looking for a
Workshop
Controller to join their business based out of their
BMW & MINI
Stockport retail centre.
The client is a family run business that started over 110 years ago and during that time, have sold and repaired cars and bikes across multiple locations in the North West.
About the role
- Keep the technician's efficiency and productivity hours high and on target
- Maintaining records of equipment repairs/calibration
- Aware of the KPI's of the service department recording daily/weekly/monthly technicians productivity/efficiencies
- Help train and develop the team, making sure they all attend the required training sessions
- Schedule work to meet customer requirements, taking into account workshop utilisation targets, job complexity and parts availability
- To distribute and control the issue of work to the Technicians to maximise quality and overall efficiency
- Ability to lead, manage and coach the team making decisions as and when required that create improvement and to achieve daily objectives
- To ensure a strong relationship is maintained with the parts department to maximise parts availability
- Work with the manufacturer to provide feedback on existing products and services
- Aware of the financial KPI's of the service department recording daily/weekly/monthly technicians productivity/efficiencies
- This role will require some customer facing and may include road tests and managing query resolution
- Is energetic, responsive and proactive when dealing with internal and external customers
- Makes day to day business decisions that prioritise customer service
- Ability to carry out quality control measures as laid down by the manufacturer and warranty standards are adhered to at all times
- Ability to control workshop cost in line with production of work
About you
- Have a full UK driving licence
- Have good organisational, planning and customer service skills
- Relevant experience as a workshop controller at either a main or independent dealership/workshop
- Experience in managing vehicle technicians
- Work well under pressure
- Great vehicle knowledge
- Have a drive to succeed and exceed targets

£31,700.00-£35,700.00 per year
