Description

First Achieve's Engineering Division have a client who have successfully operated within a range of industries including Oil & Gas, Utilities, Nuclear and Power sectors.

Due to the continued growth of their business, they have an exciting new job opportunityfor an Operations Engineer to work out of their facilities in Alloa.


This role will require you to coordinate the planning and assist in the operational delivery of workshop activities inclusive of a machine shop, welding, fitting and testing facility.

Working closely with workshop team leaders, supervisors, and project Engineers to help manage each individual project across its lifecycle.

Assisting in the creation of a test schedule based on the completion dates, helping drive improvements with materialmovements / storage of WIP and look to develop improvements in how WIP and storage of customer owned product is controlled.

Skills Required:


  • Schedule workload, executing the plans to meet customer required delivery date.
  • Working with stores Investigate and drive improvements in material storage, material movement and control. Drive improvements in storage of customer owned product following SIR inspection to ensure availability for rebuild when called upon
  • Monitor identified rework on jobs and assist with the capture of appropriate rework to help drive a 2% improvement on GM
  • Monitor performance and issue monthly reports.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the company's processes to ensure optimal master schedule stability, rescheduling and providing lead times.
  • Identify, negotiate, and resolve conflicts with respect to capacity availability and job deadlines.
  • Establish a working line of communications with all key stakeholders.
  • Assist with the review of weekly timesheets to ensure hours being booked to correct jobs/department.

Education & Experience:


  • Minimum HNC/HND in a mechanical engineering discipline or have served a recognised apprenticeship in a relevant industry.
  • Technical knowledge of rotating equipment
