We are inviting talented individuals to consider joining the governing body of the Chapter of York.
If appointed, you would contribute within the formal committee structure and also have opportunities to join in the life and worship of a Cathedral who alongside being the seat of the Archbishop of York and place of worship and pilgrimage, is also a major tourist attraction, registered museum and centre for heritage crafts.
About You
We are keen to hear from people who have experience of governance in a complex organisation, who are communicant members of the Church of England and who would bring passion and insight into this voluntary role as a Trustee and Lay Canon.
About the Organisation
The Cathedral and Metropolitical Church of St Peter in York - more commonly known as York Minster - is one of the most famous church buildings in the world.
At the heart of Cathedral life are the daily acts of worship, but overlaid on this are many individual services (from Royal Maundy to family weddings) and a complex mosaic of events, visitor opening and conservation projects.
Some 200 staff and 450 volunteers contribute to ensuring this complex organisation delivers on its mission and charitable objectives.PLEASE NOTE:
