Description

The Service Lead will have responsibility for the Haywood Hospital Specialised Services including Rehabilitation Medicine, Specialised Mobility and Specialist Out-Patient Services.

Working as part of a leadership team within their function, they will be responsible and accountable for effective service line management, clinical and operational delivery, workforce, quality service provision and safety for their teams.


The Service Lead will ensure they operate within the governance framework in place and will work with others to ensure services are transformed in line with national and local priorities and that services meet contractual and internal performance requirements.


Working with others as part of a leadership team for the Care Group the post holder will be responsible for ensuring that services are integrated around the needs of service users.

This will include facilitating work on integrated pathways and ensuring representation of their function at appropriate pathway and locality forums.

This could include leadership of a locality group or other across the Care Group.

  • Responsible for daytoday operational management of the specialist services
  • Ensuring the services provided by the teams are delivered safely and effectively, working in partnership with professional and clinical leads
  • Working collaboratively with acute providers and NHSE to fulfil the commissioning requirements of the service and wider pathways
  • The post holder will ensure that service access and delivery is efficient, effective, evidence based, needs led, as well as service user and carer focused
  • The post holder will provide clear leadership, in partnership with the clinical and professional leadership to ensure safe and effective service delivery by well led and motivated staff
  • Ensuring teams deliver services within budget
  • Ensuring teams meet key performance indicators and contractual requirements
  • Ensuring appropriate staffing levels and competencies within teams
  • Ensuring services are transformed in line with national and local priorities
