We are currently recruiting for a Head of Distribution to work Days Monday-Friday working for a leading distributor of worktop surfaces at their central distribution hub based in Nuneaton.

The Head of Distribution position is a permanent role working Monday - Friday (42.5hrs per week) 8am-5pm on a salary of £60-70,000 per annum dependent on experience + up to 20% annual bonus


The Head of Distribution role will be to ensure the site achieves required H&S standards, ISO compliance, as well as overseeing day to day branch standards.


Your key duties will include:
Develop cost effective delivery schedule to ensure customer service is maintained to the company standard
Ensure the company's transport fleet is maintained as directed by company and legislative policy, confirming all transport related documentation is compliant with current legislation
Ensure all accident reporting is completed on time and accurately in relation to employees and vehicles
Manage staff coverage within the hub at all times
Monitor absence rates and action according to company policy including RTWI
Ensure up to date knowledge of products, technology and regulations is maintained and communicated
Ensure efficiency of warehouse team, including job related training is completed for self and team
Ensure completion of customer complaints to satisfactory standard
Manage the company stock take process and manage the stock transfer process
Making sure all central communications relating to logistics and Health and Safety are implemented and communicated
Maintain KPI targets provided by the company
Reduction of site and transfer shrink.

All incidents investigated to find root cause We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:

Previous experience as Head of Distribution/ Logistics or similar
Proven people management skills leading teams of 100+ employees
Excellent organisation skills with good knowledge of warehouse administrative duties such as dealing with transport companies, stock monitoring and quality
Strong working knowledge of health and safety legislation
Ability to work in a pressurised environment
Commercially minded - proven success in delivering results in all areas of the business
Current knowledge of transport legislation
Proven experience of stock and location management Qualifications required:
Full UK driving license
Diploma (NVQ 4 or 5), preferably to degree level
5 GCSEs, particularly numeracy and literacy, or equivalent management Benefits will include:
