Vertas HQ, 2 Friars Bridge Road, Ipswich

£33,642.24 per annum

37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

The Vertas Group HSQE Team manage and maintain Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Compliance across the Vertas Group. Our passion is putting our staff and customers at the heart of everything we do.


Main Purpose of the role:


Reporting to and assisting the HSQE Manager, the post holder will support and maintain Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Compliance across the Vertas Group.


Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):
Ensure that Vertas HSQE Systems meet the requirements of applicable legal requirements, ISO Standards and other standards as necessary
Assist with regular reviews of Vertas Group Risk Profile
Support the development and delivery of continuous improvement strategies
Advocate a holistic approach to HSQE risk management, and inspire a culture of excellence and continual improvement across the Vertas Group
Assist in the development and updating of HSQE documents such as polices, processes, procedures, risk assessments, COSHH Assessments etc.
Conduct internal audits, assessments, and inspections to monitor the effectiveness of the HSQE management system and identify opportunities for improvement
Support external audits as necessary to maintain ISO certifications and other accreditations
Conduct thorough incident investigations to determine root causes and identify corrective and preventative measures
Support the development and delivery of Health and Safety related training courses (internally and externally)
Provide effective HSQE advice and guidance to Vertas colleagues as required
Support the growth of the business with the ability to travel to national locations to undertake audits and inspections (where required)


Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

Experience within Catering (Food Safety), Cleaning and FM.
Experience of implementing and monitoring a HSQE management systems and being able to identify strengths and weakness through gap analysis and trend identification
Good understanding of ISO requirements (45001, 9001, 14001, 50001)
Working with senior managers, contractors and other key personnel
Undertaking face to face Health and Safety training
Completing Fire Risk Assessments.
Excellent communication skills (in all areas)
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to deliver and write accurate reports (incident investigation, audits etc)
Ability to work with initiative and self-motivation
Excellent people skills with the ability to work both closely as a team and independently on individual tasks.
