Houghton and Son Ltd - A proud family business that pride ourselves on our work. We are building and electrical contractors with a team of around 50 engineers. We operate throughout Essex and surround areas with our head office in Chelmsford, Essex.

We are seeking a driven and passionate person to assist our accounts department.

This role would suit someone who wants to feel truly valued, in a friendly office and enjoy their work life.


Duties include:


  • Essential
  • Experience using accounts software such as Sage 50


  • Preferable

  • Experience using a job management software such as Simpro


  • Purchase ledger

  • Ensuring invoices are recorded and coded accurately on Simpro and Sage
  • Update supplier accounts by matching invoices with receipts received, requesting copies where applicable
  • Address any discrepancies or issues that arise with purchase invoices e.g. the rise is suppliers costs
  • Maintain accurate supplier records, update terms and payment records.
  • Support finance team at the end of year accounts.
  • SimPRO data entry

Key skills:


  • Accuracy in data entry
  • Problem solving
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of accounts and ideally possess or working towards a qualification.
  • Experience using Sage
  • Experience using a job management software (ideally SimPRO)
Flexible working to be discussed at interview.


Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time


Salary:
£11.00-£13.00 per hour
