The role of the Process Technician is to perform a range of assigned front line activities including testing, routine checks, maintenance, and problem solving at our water treatment works, pumping stations and service reservoirs, to ensure that services aredelivered to time, cost and quality standards.

In some cases, this may include planned and preventative maintenance of equipment to support the operation of the plant.
This Band A role is based at Brixton WTW but will cover the Southwest London area. We are offering a salary starting from £25, ,000, depending on skills and experience.

You will be required to assist on a standby shift rota, after a suitable period oftraining and assessment, working 1 in 6 weekends for which you will receive an additional payment for.


This role will involve, but not be limited to:

  • Operation of plant and equipment used in the treatment of groundwater to ensure it meets strict drinking water standards. Including cleaning, basic maintenance, routine checks, and fault-finding.
  • Monitoring, collating, and reporting of data to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance is met.
  • Undertaking health and safety, and security checks.

Highlighting and reporting hazards, near misses and incidents; making the area safe with a minimum of 2 hazards reported each month, escalating any issues to your line manager as soon as possible.

Includingtaking personal responsibility for health and safety of self and colleagues.

  • Accurately reporting faults and recording work and asset information to improve business performance using the handheld device.
  • Having an awareness of budget position and how unplanned events can impact on the budget (e.g. tanker/plant/pump hire, etc.)
  • Providing technical assistance and guidance to new starters and technical trainees as well as existing colleagues.
  • Attending all team meetings, engaging with safety briefings and company communications, identifying issues, and raising constructive feedback with the management team, with suggestions for improvements

Typical working hours will be Monday to Friday, 07:30 - 15:36, working 38 hours a week.

What should you bring to the role?:

  • You will have basic literacy and numeracy skills and must be prepared to be trained in safety procedures including Confined Space Entry and working with Toxic Gases.
  • Some computer data input /enquiry experience is desirable.
  • Due to the nature of the role a full, valid UK driving licence is required.
