We are currently recruiting a Senior Purchase/Sales Ledger Clerk to be based at our Head Office in Blackburn on a full-time, permanent basis.


Who are we looking for?
Are you an experienced purchase/sales ledger clerk looking for your next move? This could be the role just for you

Reporting to the Transaction Services Manager and acting as a 'number 2', you will assist with the day-to-day running of the department, supporting a small team of Purchase/Sales Ledger Clerks.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their career and move into a finance role in the future.

We have supported numerous employees with their AAT qualifications who have then gone onto Financial Accountant/Management Accountant roles within the company and been supported further with their ACCA and/or CIMA qualifications.

The role of a Senior Purchase/Sales Ledger Clerk at BBF

Purchase Ledger:

  • Reconciling purchase orders to delivery notes and invoices
  • Processing high volumes of supplier invoices
  • Investigating and proactively resolving Supplier Queries
  • Reconciling suppliers' statements
  • Preparation and processing of Weekly & monthend payments
  • Maintaining the purchase ledger to a high standard
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • General adhoc duties within the office
  • Inter-Company Reconciliations

Sales Ledger:

  • Invoicing deliveries in an accurate and timely manner
  • Updating cash Ledger
  • Posting and allocating Customer payments
  • Logging high volumes of Customer queries onto the Query Log; allocating to the relevant Bakery
  • Reconcile Customer Accounts
  • Processing Credit Notes and allocating to relevant deduction
  • Assisting with External Audits
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthend accounts
