_Environmental Health Officer_

  • Initial 5 months contract for North Yorkshire County Council_
    Job Summary:

We are looking for a full-time (37 hours per week), qualified Environmental Health Officer to work in the Environmental Protection section of the Council.


Key Duties/Accountabilities:


  • Duties will mainly consist of Statutory Nuisance investigations, Planning / Licensing consultations.
  • To prepare and serve statutory notices in their own name in accordance with the Councils' Schemes of Delegation and EHS's enforcement policies and procedures.
  • To take statements and gather evidence in accordance with statutory requirements and to attend court proceedings as required.
  • To supervise the work of technical officers working on related activities.

Essential Experience Required:


  • Experience of private sector housing enforcement would be an advantage

Essential Qualifications Required

  • You must be a qualified Environmental Health Officer
