The Role:

As a Highways Inspector, you can make your own powerful contribution to communities in Westminster by ensuring that our highways are maintained to a high standard and that both essential work and major construction projects are managed efficiently.

As some of London's major traffic routes pass through Westminster, you'll also contribute to the smooth running of the capital's wider road network.

We'll look to you to collaborate with a range of partners, to support the management of contracts and contractors, to issue licences and manage other essential paperwork, and to solve a wide range of problems.

It's a diverse and demanding role at the heart of one of London's busiest boroughs.

Please refer to the
Job Description for more information.

About You:

You're likely to have experience of highways management or a related area of public infrastructure, and a good grasp of Confirm software in the management of assets.

You will also have completed training in New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) 1991 to Supervisor level.

As you'll be expected to interact with everyone from contractors to ward councillors to local residents, you'll need strong communication skills.

You'll also possess the flexibility to respond to a demanding, reactive and fast-changing work environment. You'll have a collaborative, team-based approach and a commitment to exploring innovative ways to achieve more efficient working.

What We Offer:

Westminster is an amazing place. There are 250,000 diverse residents, over 50,000 vibrant and vital businesses and three-quarters-of-a-million people working here every day. Westminster City Council's strategy is to work towards a Fairer Westminster.

A Fairer Westminster is one in which our communities are at the heart of our decision-making and help to determine the city's future.

By working directly with our communities and other partners, we can build a more inclusive city that celebrates our diverse communities, and where residents, workers and visitors from all backgrounds will feel welcome and safe.
