The role is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day business administration of the UK business, managing costs within budgeted targets and preparing monthly management accounts and associated reports within the monthly deadlines.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, with a structured induction programme you'll get to know the clever humans who make up our talented teams and will be overseeing all accountancy functions of Calligo (UK) Limited.

The role would be well suited to an individual who has previous experience of working as a Finance Assistant/Officer, or in a similar transactional role.

With high attention to detail and being self driven, you'll likely be an analytical individual with thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.


Note:

This role can work from either our Leicester or Coventry offices on a hybrid basis with a minimum of one day per week spent in the office.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and associated reports within monthly deadlines
  • Preparation of monthly final reports with explanation of material variances to budget/PY
  • Reconcile key Balance Sheet accounts monthly and, where identified, quarterly for the Group Financial Controller (GFC) review
  • Manage all accounting operations include billing, AR, AP, cash management and GL
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded and reported
  • Preparation of local tax claims and returns for approval by GFC prior to submission
  • Work with GFC to develop KPI's that support decision making
  • Manage the ongoing control framework within the finance function to ensure that controls remain appropriate; this to include an ongoing review of business processes and policies
  • Work with the GFC to prepare budgets & forecasts and track performance against those benchmarks
  • Liaise with our external advisors & GFC to manage the Company's financial reporting obligations and ensure our filing obligations are met
  • Work with the GFC to coordinate the year end audit process
  • Liaise with third party tax advisors to manage the Company's statutory taxation obligations
  • Manage the Company's cash flows providing appropriate reporting and analysis to the GFC
  • Identify ways to improve efficiencies and reduce costs across the Company
  • Identify and escalate any financial and business control issues to GFC and CFO

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:


  • Proven working experience as a Finance Assistant/Officer or in a similar transactional role
  • Professional accounting qualification or working towards one
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills with knowledge of Business Central & Jet Reports an advantage
  • Ability to push through change where needed and work to deadlines
  • Enthusiasm, drive and the ability to work alone and within a team
  • Good communications skills both written and verbally
