Band 2 Ward Clerk (Oncology/Haematology - Adelaide Ward)


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Ward Clerk to join our team on Adelaide ward at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.


You will provide support with the administrative duties within our oncology/haematology inpatient ward and be an integral part of the Nursing and Medical team in supporting high quality patient care.


This is a great opportunity to work in and be part of the NHS and support your communities with their health care.


Working as part of the ward team the post holder will be required to give efficient clerical support to the nursing staff on the Ward.

Applicants must also have a good standard of education, be adaptable and have good organisational skills.

A professional telephone manner is essential to receive and respond courteously to all telephone enquiries regarding patient care.


Previous ward clerk experience and knowledge of the Electonic Patient Record (EPR) system is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

To provide a reception service, acting as first point of contact on the telephone or face to face, for patients, visitors and other healthcare professionals.

To facilitate good communication with other wards and departments involved in patient care or ward/departmental functioning.

To input data regarding all admissions, transfers and discharges onto our electronic patient record (EPR) system.

To provide an efficient administration and clerical service to the ward staff, visitors and patients.
